A couple (three?) weeks ago Cousin Evalynne and crew were in town shortly on their way to an Alaskan cruise. Rona had to teach that morning, but the kids and I headed downtown to meet up with the Long Island Cousins and Grandpa Robert and Grandma Barb. Zoey was having a bit of a cranky [...]
"If you can stop talking for three minutes I’ll give you a treat." "What kind of treat?"
Little 12 week old Keegan slept in his bouncy chair for SIX hours in a row last night! I could hardly believe it! I hope it was not a fluke and that he will sleep like that every night (ha!). He had been doing nice 3-4 hour chunks. This six hour stint was after being [...]
Wow, where have we been? Well, feeding Keegan of course. We just had our two month visit with Dr. Tracy and Keeg is now 14 pounds, 4.5 ounces. Well, as of last Tuesday anyway—he is probably 15 pounds by now. He is in the 95th percentile for weight, and is also now 24 inches long. [...]
Keegan is now one week old. I can’t believe it! He is a master eater and sleeper and pooper. He doesn’t like his diapers to be changed. He doesn’t like poop either (makes for a challenging diaper change). We are still getting used to the fact that baby boys pee in arcs across the room [...]
We’ve had several visitors since Keegan’s birth. The most helpful (no offense to the others, who have also been great) have been Grandma Evelyn and Grandpa Earl, who arrived on Monday and stayed until this morning. Grandma sat up with Keegan (aka Mister No-Sleep-At-Night) every night for several hours (like from 2 or so am [...]
This morning I posted a photoset to Flickr, with a bunch of new photos of Keegan’s birth. All the photos are work-safe and family-friendly. I have some more I’ll be adding to the set, hopefully later today. Keegan’s Birth on Flickr
Keegan was born this morning, 05/06/07, at 9:12am. He weighs 10 pounds, 1 ounce, and is 22.5" long! His chest is 38cm, and his head is 37cm. Mama and baby are doing great. Next up I’ll be posting some photos!
Active labor started around 5:45. Dr. Tracy, Dr. Molly, and student Kat arrived around 6:20. At 6:35 Rona was dilated to 7 cm, which is awesome. Zoey woke up around 7-something, cheerful as ever. Rona’s doing awesome, baby is doing awesome, and it seems like it shouldn’t be too much longer…
Okay, we are so not really going to liveblog this experience, but we can at least give you night owls a little info. Rona had a little pop and gush of water breakage at about 2:15 am today, followed up by increasingly powerful contractions. She woke me up at 3:20 or so to fill me [...]
