Tooth number 5 has arrived already for Keegan. Upper right, next to his incisor (cutting, middle) tooth. His “side incisor”. That’s why he wakes up every hour and a half during the night. Ugh.
We had another nice relaxing Thanksgiving with the Hesses, the Mashlans, and Auntie Bonnie.
Thanks (heh) to Rona’s new wheat / milk / egg-free food plan, we had to get creative with some of our dishes. Several things were doubled up, with traditional and alternate versions. It was all good.
Ala Alton Brown, we brined the turkey [...]

Zoey’s Family

Z is running around naked today, so rather than a live photo of her, here’s one from the other day when we went to get holiday pix taken of the kids. We stopped by Old Navy on the way, and Zoey [...]
Thanksgiving pumpkin

Keegan’s still teething like a madman, with #4 popping through on his upper middle left (his left). He’s helping me get stuff ready for Thanksgiving.
This little guy is a go-getter when it comes to popping out teeth. Today he squeezed out tooth #3, on the top middle right.
Last night was rather un-fun, with Toothy working on his pearly whites all night long. Sleep? Bah! Overrated.
Yesterday Rona got a Japanese eggplant out to cook and eat for lunch, but Keegan needed (demanded) her so I took over. A quick Googling turned up a nice simple quasi-recipe (more a narrative than an actual recipe). Here’s my interpretation, since I didn’t have scallions, garlic chives, or raw sugar crystals:
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive [...]
For the record, mostly so I don’t forget… my allergy report came back as Evan said before, and I am allergic to:
All Dairy… Casein, Cheese, Milk, Whey, Yogurt, etc.
Eggs (whites and yolks)
Honey
Sugar (low reaction)
Coffee - low reaction (that’s okay - I don’t drink it much)
Blueberries (dang it! I LOVE Blueberries!)
Soy - low reaction
Sesame (bummer, I [...]
Murphee, imagining a squirrel parade in the fog: “Woof woof! Woof! Woof woof woof!”
Zoey, coming out of her room in her jammies: “Hey! That’s too much noise! I cannot be-yeeve it!”
Today was Keegan’s six-month appointment. We got some erythromycin for his goopy eye, since it hasn’t yet cleared up on its own, and he is otherwise doing great! He weighs 19 pounds, 9 ounces.
Rona and had checkups too, and we both have high cholesterol. Rona’s blood pressure is perfect as always, but mine is [...]
