It would be nice to be born on a Friday, wouldn’t it? I am thinking this kid will never come out at this rate. Inducing labor is starting to sound really nice right about now. We have done many of the natural inducing techniques including walking, lunges, squats, eating pineapple (weird one, eh?), spicy foods (well, kind of… I am getting major heartburn again, reminiscent of the first trimester), etc. I am about ready to ask for some black and blue cohosh herbs.

However, I am having a small dilemma… it is my birthday tomorrow and it would seem like it would kinda be bad to have the same birthday as your mom (or dad), so I am also thinking about just relaxing and not trying to induce yet. Hmmm. Hard call. I totally had visions of going out to a nice restaurant with my sweetie - baby-free. Oh well.

We have also been continuing to get ready for his arrival by making sure all the stuff is ready like the breast pump… we figured out that we were missing a key piece. (I have no idea where it could have gone from 3 years ago!?!) Funny, for a $300 piece of equipment, a small $5 part can make it completely inoperable. So, after preschool this morning, Evan and Zoey went down to Birth and Beyond and picked it up. We also figured out how to steam clean the other parts for it. I guess we should have done that, ummm, 3 years ago. The cool little steamer bag that you put in the microwave was still in its wrapper. So, I cleaned the tubing and parts today. We are good to go.

In other news, several months ago the starter (or maybe the connection to the starter) on my car was starting to go downhill. Most of the time, it would start up fine, and then some days, it would take about 7 or 8 times before it would start. It is not the battery because the lights work, etc. Anyway, after almost two weeks of my car just sitting in front of our house not being driven, it doesn’t start anymore. :-( We have AAA, so we can get it towed to a fix-it place, just where and when is the question. It’s not like I am going to be driving it anytime soon. It is a great old car, a ‘94 Toyota Corolla (bought in Oct of ‘93). That makes it nearly 14 years old! Wow!

That’s all the news for now… stay tuned.
