Chris and Nicole and I got back from Gen Con last night, and my talented and adorable wife picked us up at the airport (thanks, Sweetie!). The show was great, as has been documented elsewhere, but I hope to post some of my own thoughts soon.

More important than that, though, is our working refrigerator! The Sears guy game over today and fixed it up lickety-split. Turns out the thermostat was on the blink, which caused the water tank to freeze over, which caused the water and ice dispensers to stop working and the freezer to stop freezing, and the fridge to stop fridging. He replaced the thermostat, and it had already started cooling down in there by the time he left. Before he left, though, I showed him my freezer door crayon hack, which he liked quite a bit. He unscrewed the switch from the top of the freezer and used one styrofoam packing peanut and some duct tape to push the switch itself down to ensure contact with the top of the freezer door. (Which is basically the same hack as mine, but backwards and hidden from view.)

The Sears guy was nice, our food is cold, and all is well.
