It was my birthday on Friday and I had such a great time! The highlights were sushi for lunch with my Dad and Barb (and Zoey and Evan) at Hana Sushi in Bothell. It was quite delicious. I hadn’t had sushi in a while. There were spicy tuna rolls, spider rolls, salmon rolls, and dragon rolls, plus Zoey actually ate (drank?) a whole bowl of Miso soup!
Then we went home so that Zoey could take her overdue nap, and we had ice cream cake! Yummy! Thank you sweetie! It was Jamoca Almond Fudge ice cream with white cake. That was also delicious! I got to take a little nap (always a bonus), and then our friend Krissy from our Doc’s office came over to babysit (for free!). So, we took off to catch the opening of Mission Impossible III at the Cinerama. We were trying to catch the 6pm show and we got there about 6:12 (with an awesome parking space, by the way). I figured we missed the previews, which was fine, but we asked if we could change the tickets to the 9pm show (we ordered them ahead of time so we wouldn’t have to stand in line). The guy said that it was fine. I am guessing it was so not crowded since it was Cinco de Mayo.
So, off to Old Navy we went for some shopping with my new gift card! Thanks again Bev! We found lots of stuff.
From there, we walked over to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner. There was a big line so we asked how long the wait was. 15-30 minutes…. but, open seating in the bar! We sat down immediately. We ordered 3 appetizers to share for dinner. It was also quite delicious! We had Thai Lettuce Wraps, Firecracker Salmon Rolls, and Fire Roasted Fresh Artichoke. [Cheese Cake Factory menu] It was super tasty! My favorite was the artichoke. And then of course we got some cheecake to go. We had to get to our movie!
Mission Impossible III was very good except for all the camera jiggly-ness. I got very motion-sick by the end of it. It was like they had a hand-held camera for the whole movie. But, I enjoyed the hollywood plot twists. I would see it again on dvd.
We came back to a house with Zoey sleeping soundly after a great time with Krissy. It was a fantastic birthday! Thank you, sweetie!
The rest of the weekend was pretty darn good, too! A little teaching, a little gardening, and lots of tv watching! My Dad and Barb gave me the first season of House on dvd. It is awesome so far! And you have to understand that since about December, when we started to pack for moving, until this weekend, we haven’t been able to watch much tv at all. We have a couple video tapes of the tv shows we just started to tape again that are ready to watch. Anyway, it is very relaxing and House is very funny. So, it was a terrific weekend!
And oh yeah, we sold the hot tub! YAY!
