Are you ready? Really ready? Okay.

We are listing our Courtland Place House today! Here is the Windermere listing. How cute does our little place look??? With lots and lots of help (Thanks to Brian and Jen and Talia and Luis!), we spread bark and gravel (Evan did the gravel all by himself!). We had it painted. We had it cleaned up. We had it powerwashed (the deck and the walkways). We had the carpets cleaned. It looks GOOD! And the 3 bedroom house across the street is for sale, too, listed at $409K! That makes our place look quite inexpensive. YAY! Please send good thoughts so that some wonderful people will buy our house—maybe even for more than the listing price! :-)

Okay, and now for the real news (for those of you we haven’t blabbed to already): We are pregnant! Yep! Although, we must say that we were looking for and bought this house before we found out…. so, here are the details… We are 9 weeks and 3 days along. Due date is September 3rd—a little Virgo just like Auntie Bonnie. I am told that Virgos go well with Capricorns (Zoey) and Tauruses (me) and Libras (Evan) goes with anything. So far Zoey is good with it all. (I think she really doesn’t care one way or another. Although, she is very good in preschool at trying to change the baby dolls’ diapers. I am hoping she will be a big helper.) So, the kids will be 2 years and 8 months apart, just like their daddy and Uncle Eric. That’s pretty amazing!

In new house news, we are settling in. We still have TONS of boxes and are still trying to find our printer/fax/scanner/copier’s power cable. We just got our entertainment center and tv/vcr/dvd/xbox (all these letters!) set up. We finally reset all the programming on the VCR (Someday we’ll have Tivo… –Evan). We missed a bunch of House episodes. Oh well. I must say it is really nice not having a tv in the living room anymore. We get so much more done! Zoey’s TV watching has dropped dramatically, which is a good thing.

I am missing our other kitchen, if you can believe it. Our old cabinets were deeper and more well-made. I am looking forward to someday getting this kitchen remodeled. In our old kitchen, Kitchen Plus did it in less than two weeks. I want to use them again! Our new appliances for the most part are awesome and Grandpa Earl did a terrific job installing them! The dishwasher I am having a problem with. It just looks and feels like crappy craftsmanship. It’s a Kenmore and is basically the same model as the seven-year-old one in our other house, but that one is so much better! So, I have called Sears and they’re going to send a repair tech out. I want them to replace it with a free upgrade. A girl can dream, right?

But, the very best thing is the gas stove. I am truly grateful to my father-in-law for his skilled craftsmanship in creating the updraft vent, gas plumbing, and electrical work required for this stove. The gas stove top reminds me of Chicago. It just brings back memories of grad school and making tea and reading books with my kitty and having all the time to relax and dream about what I wanted to do with my life. That little tick-tick-tick-poooof sound brings me back.
