My students gave their summer recital last Thursday night at the Lynnwood Kennelly Keys. It went really well. Zoey had a blast, too! She walked all around the stage and in between the chairs and out into the doorway. She even got to play the piano. Sorry, we didn’t get any pictures of that yet. She was good, too! She could even do the crossover hands thing!

We are now completely a Mac family. I finally moved from my little PC laptop (I have had it since early ‘99) to the Mac Powerbook, which is still a laptop. Evan has the big G5 iMac and I am using the iPod for music for my students now. It works out really well! So, now I just have to learn about the new email system to make it how I want it. I have already gotten used to the new Internet Browser, Firefox (no longer Internet Explorer). The desktop is pretty fun and very pretty. I got a picture from one of my favorite photographers, Jim Brandenburg and am using that for my desktop picture.

Toddlers, toddlers everywhere! I can’t remember if we have mentioned this or not, but we are on a quest to find a preschool teacher for our little co-op group, I have been added to the hiring committee and am trying to help out. So far the challenge has been the fact that “we” started this committee so late. We will be running an ad in the Times this weekend (yes, this weekend…), but if any of you know a preschool teacher interested in part time work, let me know!

Zoey and I just came from hanging out with a couple members of our group for this fall at the park. Zoey was swinging and playing in the woodchips. She also went on the Merry-Go-Round for the first time. She loved it! She stayed on for a long time, too!

We have our 18 month doctor’s appointment coming up tomorrow. We will be doing a weight and height check. By the way–teeth! She has all 4 molars now and is still working on the second bottom lateral incisor. That means she has been working on cutting 3 teeth at the same time, poor girl. No wonder she was soooo crabby!

Last night she slept for about 12 hours. Can you say bliss? She takes about a 2.5-3 hour nap in the middle of the day, too. Ahhhhh. And she is a happy girl.

Zoey’s latest yummy food is corn on the cob. We waited to give her corn until now to avoid possible allergic reactions caused by early introduction, and everything seems fine with her and corn. She likes to hold it and take bites from the cob. It is very cute. She also still really likes fish. We make salmon and halibut, and of course, she still really likes unagi (eel sushi).

She also is learning more sign language. She fastest one she learned so far is "crayon." We couldn’t find that one online and Shandra wasn’t around, so we made it up–use left hand as a tablet and "write" with your right hand on the tablet. She did it right away, becausse she loves to color with crayons! We are teaching her that she can only color on the paper that is on her table, not the table, the chairs, the floor, books, or Daddy’s shirt. She is having a blast coloring, though! I may give her some chalk and let her go crazy on the sidewalk.
