Tomorrow afternoon the nice folks from Aurora Plumbing are coming by with a new 50 gallon tankful electric water heater to install for us. Their price was almost $300 below Home Depot, and they’re right up the street, so that sounded good to us! They’re going to insulate it and stick it on a drip pan to save our floors when it blows out in another 12 years, and they’re strapping it to the wall for the next big earthquake. Maybe we’ll post a photo of our newest appliance once it’s up and heating.
As for tankless water heaters, we might add a gas one when we’re building the addition in a year or so, just to run the upstairs bathrooms.
