We have had the week of grandparents (and great Aunt) visiting. Last weekend, Grandma Evelyn, Grandpa Earl and Great Aunt Bev came up from Portland to visit for the day. We hung out for a few hours and went to Jalisco’s for dinner, where we met up with the Hesses. That was a fun time!
This past weekend, we had Grandma Arlene and Grandpa Al hanging out. They had just gotten back from Hawaii. They Zoey-sat for us on Friday night, so Evan and I actually got to go out on a date. For our anniversary, Evelyn and Earl had given us a gift card for the Olive Garden, so we went there to spend it. It was yummy! (Thanks again for that!) It was our first outing sans Zoey. It was really nice. Thanks you guys! Then, they were here all weekend to help us out. I think they got in their movie watching quota for the month, too.
So, these past weeks have just been a blur of getting enough sleep for us, working, teaching, and helping Zoey through rough growth spurts. We will find out how much she weighs and her length now, but my guess is on 13.5 pounds and a good 25-6 inches. She weighs a ton now and has grown out of more clothes and fitting nicely into 6-9 month size clothes. Wacky. She is 9 weeks old today.
We have discontinued our shifts because she was actually sleeping in good three hour chunks, but that has all changed this weekend. Man, last night, she was up every hour, nursing for 5 minutes and then trying to go back to sleep with tons of squirming going on. I am exhausted. Phew! She hung out with Daddy on the bouncy ball from 4am till about 5:30 so I could sleep, but I had to get up by six to go and teach this morning. So, I didn’t get much more. Now, Daddy and Zoey are sleeping and I am just about out the door. I hope the shot she is getting when we visit the doctor later this morning wont piss her off too much. She must be exhausted, too.
