Last night after I posted, of course Zoey got cranky. We called the Seattle La Leche League leader, who said that everything sounded normal and that we shouldn’t be worried. Then we called Dr. Tracy, who said that everything sounded normal and we shouldn’t be worried, but that we might try taking a slow walk around the block for a change of scenery. That seemed to work okay, at least during the walk.
The rest of the night is kind of a blur to me now, thankfully. I slept about an hour, I think, and then Li’l Z and I stayed up until 2am, when I handed her off to Mommy and slept until 8ish. Then Zoey and I hung out in the living room, her in her HTB (high-tech bassinet, a.k.a. stroller) and I in my kerchief–I mean in the chair–watching T.V. and working.
Today during the day was great, with no hollerin’. Our doula Susan dropped by with the girls and they chatted with Rona while I took Murphee to the Golden Gardens off-leash dog park in Ballard. I got back in time for Dr. Faith’s arrival. Faith did Cranio-Sacral Therapy on Zoey and Rona, and they both feel tons better afterward. Some of Zoey’s bones loosened up so they could slip into their proper positions, and her intestines loosened up too, as evidenced later, if you know what I mean. The session made Zoey really hungry, too, so her meals since then today have been the longest ever.
After the session she’s been really calm, even when getting her diaper changed. Brian and Jennifer came over, delivering yummy soup for Rona and yummy Jalisco’s fare for themselves and me, and after eating and talking and baby-holding, the Hesses and I tackled the garbage disposal, which quit working yesterday. In it we found a grape stem and a piece of wood, after the removal of which the disposal works like a charm once more.
Now for today’s Zoey pic, and then it’s off to sleepy-sleep land. Here’s Zoey doing Leonard Nemoy (”Your insistence in continuing to take my photograph is most … illogical….”):
