Yesterday was our 6-month wedding anniversary. Wow. Time just flies by! We celebrated by heading out to the Snoqualmie area and found a bike trail where trains used to roam. Evan knew about for years, but couldn’t find last time he tried. It was really cool. We took Murphee there and just walked on it (since I can’t do much biking these days). We all had a great time, especially Murphee. New sniffs and playing ball! And on the way home, we stopped off and got a baskin robbins ice cream cake. Yummy!
Saturday night with John Edward was so fun!!! We got to the convention center at what we thought was early, 4pm, to stand in line. We heard there were people there since 7am! Wacky! Anyway, we ended up getting pretty good seats. There were about 3500 people there. There were also 3 HUGE screens so that everyone could see. They were showing past Crossing Over shows on the screens before it started. That was really cool - no commercials and all - except that they were repeating them every 30 minutes or so. Oh well.
We got some dinner (our friends, Patty and Lisa saved our seats) at Cyberdogs which is an all vegetarian hot dog place. Really yummy! The hotdogs themselves were okay, but the sauces were very tasty! I had the special, a cut up hotdog on top of brown rice and red beans and corn. Evan had the Dogalisa, a hotdog with Marinara and cheese on top.
Then the show started. I laughed so hard! John reminds me of my Long Island cousins. The dry humor, the fast talking and he was so casual — wearing jeans. He started by telling stories and how it all works for him. At one point the microphone was acting funky and he told us about how he tends to blow them out. It’s all the energy around him. On the set of Crossing Over, once he went through 4 mics in one show! He mentioned that he is always double miked when he tapes the show now.
He opened the floor up for questions before he went into the readings. The readings were cool! (no, we didn’t get read.) For one, he was talking to a woman waaaayy on the other side of the auditorium and talked about her husband who had crossed over and brought in details and such, then he said he is bringing through someone for way on the other side (very near us). He asked for the tv guys to put her face on the screen and asked if someone recognized her… well, a woman near us stood up and asked if she was a massage therapist - yes - and if she knew her hairdresser, Renee… Renee was sitting right next to her. Then John cracked up and said “Crossing Over joins the living with the living.” Anyway, then he got into this woman’s reading with her family. And it went on. There was so much information and stories and heartfelt healing going on. It was really wonderful to be there and be a part of the energy. The whole thing lasted for almost 3 hours. Evan had a good time and I had a blast!
