Date, that is! We had our Ultrasound today, at First Hill Diagnostic Imaging. They are very nice there. Part of the process involves drinking a bunch of water about an hour beforehand and not giving it up, as it were, until after the Ultrasound. They were very sympathetic about Rona’s discomfort. Lea (Leah?), a midwifery student at our ND/LMs’ office, was there when we arrived, and sat with us through the imaging. She’s nice too, and it was good to have someone from the doctors’ office with us.

But now to the important part! On the monitor we spied one (1) very wiggly baby of indeterminate gender, sporting a total of two arms, two legs, one torso, one head, two eyes, and a jaw. Also a couple handsful of fingers and a couple feetful of toes. Not terribly cute yet, as the scans I’m going to post will show, but loveable in his or her own way. And there was only one (1) baby! The imaging tech was coy when it came to giving estimates about baby dating, but some computer date estimates were visible on the screen as she measured the length of leg and arm bones and the circumference of the head and torso. Most of these popped up with 14 weeks 3 days, but the head circumference showed 15 weeks 0 days. So my guess is 14 weeks 5 days, and Rona’s guess is 15 weeks, after rounding up.

Here’s the first Ultrasound image of our little angel (you can click it to get a bigger view):

And here’s the first one with some helpful notes, teleprompter-style (one size fits all):

So anyway, I almost forgot the other important part–our new actual estimated due date (E.D.D.) is between January 9th and January 13th. I’ll update that when we hear the official take from our midwives. Tune in tomorrow for the Week 14 Snapshot (Week 15 Snapshot soon to follow…)
